APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Sudanese Defense Minister Lieutenant General Abdelrahim Mohamed Hussein arrived in Addis Ababa on Thursday to hold talks with Ethiopian authorities.
Hussein arrived in Ethiopia when the country was preparing to send hundreds of its soldiers as peacekeepers to the joint United Nations-African Union mission in Darfur.
He met with Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and they discussed regional issues and bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Ethiopia.
They also discussed the peacemaking efforts in Darfur, according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Hussein is also expected to hold talks with Foreign Minister Seyum Mesfin.
Ethiopia opposes the International Criminal Court arrest warrant issued against Sudanese President Al Bashir on charges of war crimes and genocide in Darfur.
