As I am an Ethiopian and also part of the area that was seriously affected by the famine in 1985, I need to put some issues related with the report posted. The "so called" researched for a long period of time. Acording to thier report the souirce of the "unbelievable" information is Aregawi Berehe and his collegues who are in exile (Netherland) since 1980. BUt the famoine is occured in 1985, how they can be know the stiuations in home country? Is it fiar that posting such information depending on interests of few individuals? Is it really, soundlly collected the informations? With this I am assumed by the BBC reporter Martin Plaut of his "totally"false information.

Jeremy Clarke used a picture of severely malnourished and sick Somalian child to accompany the article on Eritrea. One wonders what Jeremy is up to. It is totally offensive and inappropriate for Rueters to use such pictures to give Eritrea and Africa as a whole a bad image in the eyes of the world. Africans should not tolerate such despicable individuals to roam around Africa and making a living by false and distorted reporting.

The response level to local and national disasters is great but it's a real shame that so many people take advantage of the sad situations.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.

This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

The current goverment of Ethiopia is an irresponsible, illegal, immoral government. It went into senseless war with Eritrea and Somalia, while millions of Ethiopians were starving. As the current leaders of Ethiopia are the former warlords of Tigray, it is not difficult to believe that the BBC story is actually true.

A Media Campaign of Endless Lies and Deceptions

The Sudan Tribune in its Wednesday 17 February 2010 edition quoting the Kiev Times reported that a Ukrainian company Ukrspetsexport supplied artillery systems and small arms to the rebels in Chad through the territory of Eritrea. The story picked by Sudan Tribune is an outright lie and a fabrication without any shred of truth whatsoever.

This irresponsible and poisonous report is part and parcel of the endless campaign of lies and deceptions being perpetrated by some quarters, designed to tarnish the image of Eritrea and furthermore, a futile attempt to sow seeds of discord to the warm and brotherly relations between Eritrea and Sudan.

Eritrea’s territory has never been used as transit to supply arms to anyone group in the Sudan or any other place in the region. Eritrea enjoys exemplary warm relations with the government and people of Sudan. Despite the dissemination of lies and deceits by forces with subterraneous motives and who aspire to benefit from instability and chaos in our region, Eritrea firmly reiterates that it will relentlessly strive for peace and stability in the Sudan and the region at large.

I think it is fantastic to see more reward for the people making the coffees that are famous in the world of specialty coffee lovers. I have however heard concerns that the grades are not as pure, which Ethiopian specialty coffee specialist exporters have always to ensure will be the case
