The Kenyan leaders have agreed to name the new cabinet today. In the new appointments the ODM leader, Raila Odinga will be made the Prime Minister. The 40 member cabinet will dissolve the one that was put in place shortly after the December 27 Poll.

This deal was reached after a closed meeting between President Mwai Kibaki and Hon.Raila Odinga at Sagana state lodge on Saturday.

A statement from Kenya’s presidential press service said: ”A breakthrough was made in the talks and President Kibaki and Honorable Raila Odinga agreed to the announcement of the cabinet today” . This will come as very good news to the over 300,000 who had been displaced.

The cabinet list was supposed to be announced on 06.Apr.08 but the two parties were failing to agree on the 50-50 sharing of infrastructure and administrative portfolios.

The public had become impatient over the delayed announcing of the cabinet that saw violence break out in some slums like Kibera.
